Să nu găsesc în mine nici un strigăt
care străbate dincolo la tine,
să fie piatra piatră şi tăcerea
o mare nemişcată de suspine,
să fie-adevărat că veşnicia
s-a şi statornicit între noi doi
iar deznadejdea-şi rupe melodia
ca vîntul fugărit prin pomii goi,
că nu se afla drumuri înapoi ?

To find in me no calling
to reach you over there,
to be the stone a stone and silence
a still sea of sighs,
to be true that the eternity
has just settled between us
and the despair breaks its melody
like the wind among the naked trees,
not to be a way back, not to be ?
