Lumea a fost făcută de-un zeu egiptean
La roata olarului. A luat pămînt şi apă din Nil
Şi le-a-nvîrtit pe gîndul lui pîn' la lumină.
Din lumină a imaginat femeia şi florile.
Dar femeia semăna cu ulciorul,
şi cînd a ridicat-o să bea
Olarul a fost ameţit - şi palmele lui
Au mîngîiat în neştire ulciorul răsturnat lîngă el.
Atunci s-a născut cîntecul.
GENESIS
The world was made by an Egyptian god
On the potter wheel. He took soil and water from the Nile
And rotated them on his thought until light.
From light he imagined woman and flowers.
But woman looked like a pitcher,
And when he rised her to drink
The potter was dizzied - and his palm
Ceaselessly caressed the pitcher overturned beside him.
Then the song was born.
