AFRICA DE SUB FRUNTE

Numai veşti rele mai aştept.

Numai veşti proaste mai pot aduce:

a mai murit un copac,

a mai plecat o pasăre,

cineva şi-a tăiat sufletul într-un

ciob de oglindă, undeva, în continentul iubirii

au năvălit oamenii-cangur...

Toate vînturile bat de-a-ndăratelea

zicînd că trebuie îndreptaţi arborii

pe care tot ele i-au strîmbat. Şi astfel

mortalitatea arborilor

a crescut înspăimîntător -

căci nimic, o, nimic nu se poate îndrepta

fără încuviinţarea sevelor

şi tot ce se îndreaptă cu de-a sila

se frînge...

De aceea, nu mai aştept decît veşti rele -

se  vor stinge probabil şi focurile rămase,

va creşte păr aspru, de cal

pe ultimile frunţi albe, strălucitoare,

nesfărîmate încă de ciomege,

şi ultimile cîntece în păduri

vor fi ale gorilelor-lupi...

Şi între timp a mai murit un copac,

a mai plecat o pasăre,

cineva şi-a tăiat oglinda

într-un ciob de suflet,

şi oamenii-cangur se-nmulţesc

în buzunarul de la spate al lumii...

Numai veşti rele mai aştept.

AFRICA UNDER MY FOREHEAD

Only bad news I am waiting for.

Only bad news I can bring:

a tree has died again,

a bird has left,

someone has cut his soul in a

piece of glass,

somewhere, in the love continent

have rushed the kangaroo men...

All the winds are blowing upside down
saying that the thees must be straightened
after they have twisted them. So that 
the mortality of the trees 
has awfully increased -
cause nothing, oh, nothing, can be staightened
without the consent of the saps
and everything is straightened by force
breaks...

Therefore I am waiting only for bad news -
the last fires will probably die,
will grow wiry horse hair
on the last white shining brows,
yet unbroken by the clubs,
and the last songs in the forests
will be those of the wolfs...

And in the meantime a tree has died,
a bird has left,
someone has cut his glass
in a piece of soul,
and the kangaroo men are multiplying
in the back pocket of the world...

Only bad news I am waiting for.
