SEQUOIA
Rugaciune-nverzind în lumina de aur,
ca printr-un trunchi de sequoia te caut. Nicicînd
n-au avut întîmplările crengi mai curate,
nici ora frunzişul mai des.
Obiceiul stelar al suirii pe boltă
ani indelungi l-am deprins. Ca pe un vis urmărind
un alt vis, suprimînd accidentele zării,
primeşte-mă, frunzaă de sus !

Legea ţărînii, cu mult mai suavă aici,
e aceeaşi : copacul invers ne respiră
solemn, arde-odată cu noi.

Într-o climă uimită, atingem cu mîna
un timp care nu mai e timp,
ci fiinţa ingenuă, har al prezenţei.
Tot ce mistuie-n foşnet, tribut confirmînd
horoscopul căderii, e numai o formă
a trecerii noastre prin foc.
Sub cupola - ce salturi mortale de îngeri
poartă sequoia ! Zburînd ne-ntîlnim, fulgerăm,
ne desprindem, şi suntem chiar muzica lumii,
cînd stele - geloasele - tac.
SEQUOIA
A prey growing green in the light of gold,
as in a sequoia trunk I look for you.Never
the events had such pure branches,
nor the hour a thicker leafage.
The stellar habit of rising on the vault
I learnt for long years. As a dream fallowing
another dream, quelling the incidents of the horizon,
receive me, upper leaf !
But what is singing on top, if not the root ?
The low of the dust, suaver here,
it's the same : the reversed tree solemnly
breathes us, burns with us.
Bloodless events the fibrous forehead
rounds at the cross of the big branches.
In an amazed climate, we touch with our hends
a time that isn't time anymore,
but an ingenuous creature, grace of the presence.
All it waste in its rustle, as a tribute to
the horoscope of the fall, it's only a form
of our passing through the fire.
Under the cupola - what mortal bounds of angels
the sequoia holds ! Flying we meet , lighten,
detach, and we are the very music of the world,
when stars - the jealous - are silent.
