În serile de toamnă,
Cînd îngerii întind
Pe-nchişii ochi ai zilei bolnave
Vălul serii,
Ne pomenim adesea
Gîndind,
Plîngînd,
Iubind,
Cu-o dragoste smerită
Şi-adîncă
Şi tîrzie,
Pe bunii duşi
Pe duşii ce n-au să mai revie
Şi i-am lăsat să plece,
De tot
Fără să ştie
De-a fost cîndva o clipă
În care le-am pătruns
În tainiţa comorii
Ce ne-o jertfea pe-ascuns
Iubirea lor adîncă
Şi tristă
Şi sfioasă...

...În serile de toamnă,
Cînd liniştea din casă
I-atît de priitoare neliniştii din gînd,
Ne pomenim adesea
Că-ngenuchem, plîngînd
Cu-o remuşcare-adîncă
Şi tristă
Şi tîrzie
Pe bunii duşi,
Pe duşii ce n-au să mai revie
Şi i-am lăsat să plece
De tot,
Fără să ştie,
Măcar că-n taina unei
Tîrzii
Şi vane seri
Îşi vor afla răsplata
Durutelor tăceri...
Că va veni-ntr-o toamnă
O vară tristă-n care,
Pioasă şi tîrzie
Şi vană remuşcare,
Îi vom iubi şi-om plînge
În prada unui dor
Mai trist
Şi mai zadarnic
Decît a fost al lor...



REMINISCENCE

When the angels spread
On the closed eyes of the ill day
The veil of the night
We often find ourselves
Thinking,
Weeping,
Loving
With a humble love
And deep
And late,
The dear passed away,
The passed away who never come back
And we let them go
For good,
Without knowing
If there was a moment
When we penetrated
The secret treasure

And sad
And shy...
