ACUMA SAU PE URMĂ

Va fi mai greu sau mai uşor pe urmă
cînd reci vom îngheţa în chihlimbare
cuprinşi de umbră, să ne dăm de urmă
decît acum cînd încă ne mai doare
surîsul îngheţat pe buze, gerul,
zăpada celuilalt strivită-n mînă
sau cît la sîn ne-atîrnă giuvaierul
acestei inimi calde ca o lînă,
acum cît suntem doi şi unul
mereu, şi istovim aceeaşi ceară
de bucurii sau prelungiri, ajunul
iubirii ca să-i prindem gustul iară
acum, cînd încolţiţi de zile încă
în noi ne adunăm ca într-o urnă
şi ne-ncălzim în spuza noastră-adîncă
şi ne iubim: acuma sau pe urmă?

ADESSO O POI

Sara piu difficile o piu facile poi
quando freddi irrigideremo nelle ambre,
compresi dall'ombra, di trovarci
che adesso  quando ci fa ancora male
il sorriso gelato sulle labbre,
la neve altrui schiacciata in mano
o quando al nostro petto pende il gioiello 
di questo cuore caldo come lana,
adesso quando siamo due e uno
e dividiamo la stessa cera
di gioie e carezze, la vigilia
dell'amore per testarla nuovamente,
adesso, quando addentati dai giorni ancora
dentro di noi ci raccogliamo come in un'urna
e ci riscaldiamo nelle nostre ceneri
e ci amiamo: adesso o poi?

Will it be more difficult or easier then
when we shall be stiff in ambers
surrounded by the shadow, to find each other
than now when it hurts us
the smile frozen on the lips
the other's snow crushed in the hand
or when at our chest still hangs the jewel
of this heart warm like the wool,
now when we are two and one
and share the same wax
of joys and hugs, the eve
of love to taste again,
now, when still bitten by the days
we gather inside us as in an urn
and we warm ourself in our ashes
and we love each other: now or then?
