SEMNE PE MARE
Tu cît ai dat lumii ? Ce am dat eu ?
Şi tace marea părînd liniştită.
Numai copiii grăbesc un răspuns,
Suflet de soare băut şi pătruns,
Vîrstă gonită cu toamna mereu,
Descîntă frunza sub pragul vîntului,
Ne tragi, ne tragi ...şi abia am iubit,
Abia am plătit din tot darul pămîntului
Cîteva semne spre mult nesfîrşit.
Marea ne trece neadormită.

How much have you given to the world ?
What have I given ?
And the sea is silent seeming quiet.
Only the children rush an answer,
Soul drunk and penetrated by the sea,
Age always driven with autunm,
The leaf is charming away below the wind,
You draw us, you draw us...and we hardly loved,
We hardly paid from all the earth gift
Some signs to much infinite...
The sea is passing over us tireless.
