Mă îndoiesc de mine
Pînă la pămînt.

Pămîntul nu-mi oferă nici el
O certitudine
Şi mă îndoiesc de pămînt,
Atît de mult,
Că răsar pe partea cealaltă
La cer.

Atunci mă îndoiesc şi de cer.

O, pe toate lucrurile,
Pe păduri şi pe mări,
Pe cer, pe lună, pe soare
Trupul meu este o iederă
Care încearcă să se sprijine
De taifun.

I doubt of me
As far as the earth.

Neither the earth offer me
A certainty.
And I doubt of the earth,
So much,
That I rise on the other side
In the sky.

Then I doubt of the sky too.

Oh, upon all the things,
Upon the forests, and upon the seas,
Upon the sky, upon the moon, upon the sun
My body is an ivy
Which tries to lean upon
The typhoon.
